Overview

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has an opportunity for a Change Specialist who will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.

As a Change Specialist for the Royal Society of Chemistry, you will focus on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisation structures. Your primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimise resistance.

You will also work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organisation to increase benefit realisation, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is the world’s leading chemistry community, connecting the world of science to advance chemical knowledge for a better future. We publish new research. We develop, recognise and celebrate professional capabilities. We bring people together to spark new ideas and new partnerships. We support teachers to inspire future generations of scientists. And we speak up to influence the people making decisions that affect us all.

We are looking for:

  • A proven track record, within successful transformational programmes, of using change management frameworks, methodologies, processes and tools in order to assess need and deliver appropriate solutions and outputs
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; change management certification and experience with Prosci ADKAR Model is a plus
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer at all levels and with people of different styles
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations, with excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships, influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life-cycle
  • Experience with large-scale global organisational change efforts
  • Evaluation experience including setting metrics from the beginning and measuring the impact and benefits of change interventions on the organisation

This opportunity is available on an 18-month contract basis. If you are interested, please apply before the end of our closing date. If you are selected, first interviews are due to be held on 11/06/19 & 12/06/19 and second interviews on 25/06/19.
