Plastic Processing Technician required, based in Warrington. Requiring proven industrial experience of processing plastics, including injection moulding and/or extrusion.

SRG are working with a global chemical manufacturer who are leaders in several speciality and high-performance chemical markets. Due to expansion, they are now hiring a Plastic Processing Technician to join the Innovation & Technical Team. This role will involve preparing and characterising samples from raw materials using injection moulding and/or extrusion, as well as carrying out performance testing of plastics and bioplastics including mechanical, rheological and thermal properties and would suit candidates which have similar experience.

Role / Description
- Prepare and characterise test samples from raw materials via injection moulding or extrusion. This will encompass both routine work and establishing method development studies.
- Optimise the extrusion and injection moulding process for a variety of plastics and bioplastics.
- Carry out performance testing of bioplastics including mechanical, rheological and thermal properties.
Requirements
- A degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry (or similar) or proven industrial experience within extrusion or injection moulding
- Knowledge of polymeric materials including rubbers, polyurethanes, and plastics
