Laboratory Technician - 6-months temp

Goole, East Yorkshire (commutable from Doncaster, Hull and surrounding areas)

Salary - £26,000

Temporary contract (6 months)

Hours - 37 hours per week with option to work overtime at 30% extra salary

SRG is working with a large manufacturer of industrial agrochemical products. Initially the job would just be for a 6 month period and would suit someone with a background in analytical chemistry from either a university project or equivalent work in the chemicals industry. Applications are encouraged from graduates or early careers chemists. Training in laboratory techniques will be provided.



Role Description

• Analytical wet chemistry and physical testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products
• Using specialist techniques such as GC, HPLC, ICP-OES & LECO
• Ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety guidelines
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Producing quality reports of product batches

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent industrial experience preferable
• Experience using chromatographic techniques in an industrial setting is preferable. A strong university background will be considered
• Knowledge of physical and industrial chemical testing techniques
• Able to commute to the Goole area daily. Ability to drive will be essential.
