Materials Technologist (Polymers)
Skelmersdale(commutable from Liverpool, Bolton, Preston and surrounding areas)
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000(depending on experience)

SRG is working with a leading UK manufacturer of high spec polymer and composite products. Based in the Southwest Lancashire area, they have recently started hiring for a new member of their team. This is a great opportunity for a chemist or engineer with a background in polymers and materials. You will join a growing team in a fast-moving lab environment with a wide range of specialist materials testing equipment. Applications from graduates are welcome and individuals with previous industry experience would be considered at the upper end of the salary scale.

Role Description
- Developing and implementing new materials for use in manufacturing
- Analysis of material properties with wet chemistry techniques and specialist mechanical testing techniques (abrasion, hydro-static, tensile strength)
- Tweaking polymer formulations and troubleshooting
- Liaising with suppliers of raw materials and managing customer projects
- Adhering to safety standards and Working safely in a fast-paced lab environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working with thermoset/thermoplastics. 3+ years of experience will be needed for the upper salary range
- A chemistry or engineering degree would be preferred
- Ability to travel or relocate to the South Lancashire area.
- Experience within polymer formulation or materials development would be an advantage.
- Full right to work in the UK.
