Materials Testing Technician required, based in Warrington. Requiring a degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry (or similar). Recent graduates encouraged to apply.

Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience)
Term: Permanent
SRG are working with a global chemical manufacturer who are leaders in several speciality and high-performance chemical markets. Due to expansion, they are now hiring for a Materials Testing Technician to join the Technical Team, supporting the Senior Materials Chemist with the physical testing and thermal analysis testing of polymer materials. The analysis completed will support new product development and application development of polymer-based products. Recent graduates of Chemistry, Materials Science or Polymer Science are encouraged to apply. Full training and mentoring will be. 27 days holiday, increasing with length of service, plus 8 bank holidays. 37.5 working hours, 8.30am to 4.30pm (flexible), Monday to Friday. Role / Description
- Prepare and analyse polymer test samples including physical testing and thermal analysis
- Techniques used include tensile testing, impact testing, abrasion testing, rheometry testing as well as heat distortion temperature analysis
- Complete analytical and technical documentation and reports upon completion of analysis
- Support in the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and equipment
Requirements
- A degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry (or similar) or proven industrial experience
- Proven industrial experience of materials testing is advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of polymeric materials including rubbers, polyurethanes, and plastics
