This includes Teach Chemistry, our service for secondary schools, grants and competitions including the UK Chemistry Olympiad, professional development opportunities, regional support, resource publishing and Chemistry Teacher Training Scholarships administered on behalf of the Department for Education in England. The Education Programmes Assistant will provide administrative support for programmes within the Education team’s work, as well as providing day-to-day customer service and delivering small projects to support the development of programmes where required.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong administration skills and excellent IT skills particularly with regard to MS Office. Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail to keep accurate records, manage data and produce reports and able to work effectively on your own and as a member of diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with financial processes.
  • Competency in supporting multi-system operational programmes.
  • Understanding of candidate selection processes including GDPR compliance.
  • A basic understanding or interest in science education in the UK and Ireland.

When applying, please provide an up-to-date CV and a supporting statement (no more than 500 words) indicating how your skills / expertise match the competencies outlined in the job description here

At the RSC, we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce and welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds to apply. We particularly encourage applications from disabled and ethnic minority candidates.

As a part of the Disability Confident Scheme, we endeavour, where possible, to offer an interview to candidates meeting the essential criteria of the role, who has a substantial physical/mental impairment which impacts their ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.

We are committed to making our recruitment processes accessible to all and as part of this, we are flexible in the ways we give and receive information.
