CK Group are seeking a Research and Development Chemist to join a biologics company in the regenerative medicine space on a permanent basis.
Location:
Southampton. Hours are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
Client:
Our clients technology platform is at the forefront of innovation for medical applications to address the unmet need for long-term tissue regeneration, offering safer, more economic clinical solutions for health systems, and better outcomes for patients. They are increasing their range of R&D projects, and are looking to start to operate to ISO 13485:2016 medical device quality standards for their technology.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formulation and development of new products
- Independently plan and execute technical projects and work programmes
- Lead and deliver work with range of collaborators and partners
- Perform quality testing on samples, investigate potential problems and quality concerns
- Laboratory management, maintaining equipment, maintaining calibration, ordering reagents, and carrying out stock checks
- Carry out proof of concept scale-up manufacturing work, and work with third party suppliers for bespoke manufacturing equipment
Your Background:
- Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with demonstrable experience in independent project work
- An interest in biological applications, including orthopaedics
- Experience in the chemical industry and/or inorganic synthesis preferred
- Significant experience spent within an analytical environment and competent with a broad range of techniques including rheology, TEM, SAXS, elemental analysis and zeta potential
- Experience in exploring and setting up new analysis protocols
- An understanding of method development & validation
