Development Chemist

CK Group are recruiting for a Development Chemist to join a chemicals manufacturing company at their site based in Coventry on a full time, permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client is ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited and they sell both nationally and internationally. Specialising in cleaning chemicals, they now have a requirement for an experienced Development Chemist to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new product development programmes with a focus on excellent product performance and cost effectiveness. The company offers a salary circa £40,000pa depending on experience, as well as 25 days holiday and pension.

Location:
The Development Chemist will be based at the company site in Coventry, easily commutable by road from surrounding areas including Leicester, Birmingham, Rugby, Nuneaton and more.

Development Chemist Role:
Your main duties will be:

• Lead lab-based new product development projects according to commercial briefs and market demands
• Develop and sustain excellent professional relations with key commercial colleagues
• Support the scale up and production of new products
• Lead the identification, sourcing and assessment of novel and alternate raw materials, alongside pursuing ingredient sustainability issues
• Contribute to the development of analytical laboratory methods for new and existing raw materials and finished products

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

• Strong chemistry and product knowledge and familiarity with a wide range of chemical product ingredients
• Industrial experience gained by hands-on formulation and production of chemical products
• ‘Can do’ attitude – problem solver and comfortable making decisions
