Laboratory Chemist needed in West Yorkshire on a temporary basis. Requiring strong laboratory experience gained within industry or academia. Excellent opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate to gain some industrial experience.



Title: Laboratory Chemist

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £22,000 - £27,000 pro rata (dependent on experience)

Term: Ongoing temporary work



SRG are working with a highly successful company that are part of very large wider global corporation, that have a presence in over 50 countries across the world. They specialise in the manufacture and distribution of adhesives, additives and lubricants for use in various applications ranging from automotive, construction, polymers and other speciality products. They are seeking a Laboratory Chemist to join their team in West Yorkshire to help manage the laboratory workload including performing QC testing, providing technical service and other laboratory work. This role would suit recent Chemistry graduates who are looking to gain some industrial experience. Alternatively, candidates that have proven industrial experience are encouraged to apply.

Benefits: Gain invaluable experience working in a high volume, fast paced laboratory in industry with full support and training. 35 hours - Monday to Friday, with flexibility on start and finish times. 25 days holiday and plus bank holidays (pro-rata).



Role/Description
  • Performing QC analysis of manufactured products, using techniques such as XRF, Karl Fischer, IR, viscosity measurements, and density measurements
  • Supporting in providing technical support to internal and external clients
  • Supporting in other laboratory work
  • Immediate reporting of any out of spec issues to line manager
  • Accurate and meticulous input of data into ERP system
  • Effective communication with factory personnel and management


Requirements
  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Previous laboratory experience in industry or academia
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office and basic IT skills
  • Excellent written and communications skills
  • Ability to work meticulously and methodically
  • Willingness to learn, and to engage and work as part of a team
  • Previous experience with aerosol testing/ development is useful
