Role: Proposing, executing, and driving R&D according to company strategy.

For this role will consider applications from chemists who are interested in dynamic DNA nanotechnology, particularly those with backgrounds such as:   

  • Systems chemistry
  • Supramolecular chemistry
  • Smart nanotechnologies
  • Stimuli responsive polymers
  • Chemical Biology
     

Responsibilities:

You will work closely with our team of scientists and academic collaborators across both core R&D and commercial projects, elevating the technical capabilities of our platform and products by:

  • Researching, designing, and testing DNA nanotechnologies with a cultivated grasp of design principles and constraints to innovate and create new IP (Intellectual property) 
  • Working to product/platform objectives and priorities set out by Research Director, collaborating with wider team and computational scientists to drive product focussed ideas at pace
  • Delivering commercial projects to a high standard whilst adhering to quality management system 
  • Understanding and keeping up with the state of the art and research, regular monitoring of literature and IP landscape
  • Clear and effective presenting of results and findings to internal teams and customers through verbal or written formats. Presenting at conferences

You will have:

  • PhD in chemistry, research ability demonstrated by journal and conference publications and/or preprints
  • Willingness to be hands on in the laboratory
  • Real interest and understanding of innovation and human health
  • Collaborative and open in communication style, persuasive and balanced
  • Enthusiastic and output-driven
  • Excellence in data analysis
