One of the leading manufacturing companies of fine chemicals and materials in Specialty Chemicals are recruiting for a Lab Technician to join the materials testing department. As Lab technician you will be testing a wide range of raw materials and final products, whilst working closely with the R&D team to ensure successful scale up procedures.

An important aspect of this role will involve converting laboratory processes into plant operating procedures. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering graduate to progress in the chemical manufacturing industry.

Key Duties:

• Conducting small scale manufacture of low volume, high value products in the lab and at plot scale
• Maintaining and operating test methods and plant equipment to run trials with company products, materials and batch requests from customers
• Troubleshooting and implementing improvement strategies at trial scale
• Reporting on lab and test trials to R&D teams for progress to full-scale production
• Converting laboratory processes into plant operating procedures
• Assess procedures for product and process improvement

Requirements:

• Minimum BSc Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Interest/aptitude in inorganic chemistry
• Industrial experience or placement involved in the materials industry would be preferred.
• Able to work independently on multiple projects and apply problem solving skills to overcome challenges.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and adaptability prioritise tasks
