We are currently looking for a Downstream Process Project Manager to join a leading CDMO company based in the Berkshire area. As the Downstream Process Project Manager you will be responsible to work according to regulatory guidelines to inactivate and remove viruses through validating the capability of the downstream purification processes in collaboration with external vendors.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced process driven scientist with experience in viral clearance to step out of the laboratory, develop their existing knowledge in downstream process development in a supportive company with huge opportunities to progress.


Your duties as the Downstream Process Project Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will lead multiple projects and ensure the design and delivery of related project tasks are executed accordingly , as well as plan experimental work, troubleshoot technical issues and writing and reviewing protocols.

2. You will collaborate and liaise with external vendors, work closely with customer to resolve complex issues, and deliver presentations for internal use.

3. You will actively train, coach, and mentor junior members in the department and escalate issues and risks in due course.

4. You will drive quality, data driven decisions and critically analyse information on projects, whilst continuously developing an awareness of project activities outside own area of expertise.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Process Project Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant BSc, or MSc degree in a relevant Life Science discipline

2. Proven industry experience in a GLP / GMP environment. Previous experience working in viral clearance including viral inactivation and nanofiltration is advantageous.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with protein purification techniques including chromatography and use of AKTA systems.
