Job Details

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a great opportunity for a Receptionist and Hospitality Coordinator to join us, based at our flagship Burlington House office in Piccadilly, London.

Since 1857, Burlington House has been the Royal Society of Chemistry’s London residence. In 2010, we opened our doors as a venue, offering a distinctly different opportunity for those looking for a unique and convenient setting for events. We have six rooms for hire, hosting events including conferences, seminars and symposia, promotional events, award ceremonies, private functions and more. As a not-for-profit organisation, we invest all profits into advancing the excellence of chemical sciences.

The role of Receptionist and Hospitality Coordinator is critical to support the smooth running of hospitality at the RSC, from initial enquiry and booking, to ensuring that client needs are met through coordination of event elements (Catering / AV / Equipment / Set-up) and covering Front of House. In this role you will work on a day-to-day operational level including undertaking reception duties and hospitality co-ordination, and will work closely with other members of the team.

We are looking for:

  • Previous hospitality and reception experience would be desirable.
  • Customer focussed approach and a good team player.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and multi-task with good problem-solving skills.
  • A skilled communicator, with ability to apply diplomacy and tact and effective communication at all levels.
  • Ability to use databases, presentation and word processing packages.

The contractual base for this role is our London office. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend the office as needed for their role. This is a permanent full-time, 35 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday, however you will be required to work some evenings and weekends.

Visit our Work For Us website to learn more about us, our benefits, Equal Opportunities Statement and Inclusive Culture Pledge.

If you are interested, please apply before the end of our closing date.
