The Company

A leading global provider of Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services on a wide range of products, materials, processes and services and products for a diverse set of end markets, where failure in service is simply not an option. Based in Manchester.



The Role

As a Quality Manager you will be reporting to the Head of Quality and a member of the management team, responsible for the overall quality performance. This includes the quality management system (QMS), maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external customers and enabling continuous improvement of processes. You will have a sound working knowledge of GLP, GMP and ISO 9001 / 17025 / 10993.



Key Responsibilities

• Build a positive and proactive quality culture that drives employee engagement and makes the company a fantastic place to work
• Maintain and implement the Analytical Quality Management System
• Promote continuous improvement activity within the Analytical Quality Management System
• Build and lead a high performing QA Team ensuring an adequate skills base, opportunity to develop and motivation to achieve objectives
• Collaborate across the organisation (commercial, QA, business development etc.) to ensure understanding of the compliance requirements
• Effectively manage QA resources to support both commercial and operational activities
• Develop and maintain the Quality Management System to meet all specific GLP, cGMP and UKAS regulatory requirements
• Host client, accreditation and regulatory audits and inspections

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in a Life Sciences discipline, with experience in pharmaceutical testing or a related environment preferred (e.g. manufacturing)
• Team leadership / managerial experience required
• Direct quality assurance experience, preferably in a fast-paced analytical laboratory or similar environment is preferred. Ideally with direct experience in setting up/maintaining a Quality System.
• Experience of working in an GLP regulated (ie as member of a GLP Monitoring Authority programme) environment is a prerequisite
• GMP experience would be beneficial
• Experience in leading/reviewing/approving quality investigations, undertaking root cause analysis, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring the effectiveness of actions undertaken
• Requirement to keep up to date with changes in the quality landscape and maintain personal professional development
