Job Details

Want to reach and influence scientists globally, to help advance their research? Can you extract key messages from a chemistry publication or white paper to use an ad or eblast? (And did you spot the error in that last sentence?) Our marketing team is looking for a new marketing executive to support the charity’s ambitious growth goals.

Working in the small marketing team, you’ll drive our lead generation efforts through preparing, distributing, monitoring, and iterating our digital advertising and promotions. You’ll also get involved in our blogs, social media, and events.

You’ll need great written communication skills, and an understanding of chemistry or a related science to be able to communicate effectively to our target audience: computational scientists at academic and industrial organisations.

The CCDC’s small molecule structures database and software suites are well used across top pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. With additional lead generation we want to make the next step into mid-sized and start-up pharma companies and expand our reach in academia.

CCDC is a registered charity – our mission is to advance structural science for the public benefit. We enable scientists to learn from collective structural chemistry data: public or proprietary, experimental or predicted. From big pharma to top universities, and new biotech and drug discovery start-ups, thousands of scientists globally use CCDC data and software to advance their science.

For further details on this exciting opportunity, please see the full Job Description and Person Specification as detailed on the Careers page of our website.

The scientists and software developers at the CCDC create and supply the database system storing all the world's published 3D structures of small-molecule chemicals. This system is used by thousands of organisations in over 70 countries. We’re a professional organisation, established as a not-for-profit company and registered charity. Although independent, we are a University of Cambridge Partner Institute. We offer an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary in a lively and friendly organisation of around 70 staff worldwide.

Our activities span scientific research, software development, finance, IT systems, commercial, and support - and we need great people in every team to continue our mission to advance structural science!
