Materials and Characterisation Scientist
Location: Reading/Basingstoke area
Salary: £25,850 - £35,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

Working within the Materials and Analytical Sciences (MAS) Sub-Function, this role will give you the opportunity to apply your expertise analysing the physical and chemical properties of materials in a wide range of environments, and work alongside materials modellers to develop life prediction models.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with hands-on experience of working in a laboratory environment. The following skills and experience are desirable:
Degree or equivalent level knowledge/experience of a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry or Materials Science).
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Interest/experience in working with materials of different types including polymers, ceramics and/or metals.
Interest/experience in a range of experimental techniques for chemical analysis (e.g., molecular spectroscopy, thermal methods and electrochemistry).
