Job Details

Naturbeads is a young start-up scaling up a new technology to reduce microplastics in our environment.

It is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastics in the ocean than fish. If you, like us, believe that the time to act on this is now, join our company and contribute to reduce plastic pollution on our planet!

You will be working together with our Protein Chemist, as well as with Naturbeads engineer and technicians, to develop customized beads as carriers of macromolecules and cells for cutting edge applications in bio-catalysis and laboratory grown meat.

Due to us being a small start-up, the role suits someone who enjoys working autonomously, in a fast paced, unstructured environment where you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and solve any new challenge that the day-to-day activities will bring you. In exchange you will be rewarded with a great experience, working with a friendly and committed team, with amazing opportunities for career progression as we expect to accelerate our growth in the coming months, you will be trained on a diverse range of equipment, and you will contribute to create a new category of cellulose-based products that will help us reduce our reliance on plastic and save our planet from microplastics pollution.

Salary depending on experience and qualifications (starting from £1700/month)

Working hours: 37 hours per week

Flexible starting date: ASAP

Essential skills

Degree in Chemistry (BS. or MSc.)

Previous laboratory experience is a plus

Comfortable in reading academic papers and patents

Great interpersonal skills to deal with colleagues and project partners

Please send your CV and cover letter to: contact@naturbeads.com.

This internship is funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
