THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

Lecturer in Chemistry Grade 7/8 (2 POSTS)

£34,805 - £52,560 pa (or pro rata)

We invite applications for two Lecturer (Teaching & Research) positions in Chemistry.

We are particularly keen to recruit people working in the broad areas of organic chemistry (one post) or inorganic chemistry (one post). We also welcome applications from people working outside those areas, including interdisciplinary research which complements an existing area of the department’s expertise. Our research activities are organised into 5 research clusters (Chemical Models, Chemistry of World Health, Energy and Interfaces, Organic Synthesis and Catalysis) while the cross disciplinary research takes place within research centres and institutes (further details below). The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of chemistry lectures, laboratory classes and tutorials within the suitable teaching section.

Applications are invited from candidates who can demonstrate an excellent research profile, as evidenced by publications in leading academic journals.

The School of Physical Sciences is an Athena SWAN Silver Award holder and is committed to encouraging, developing and supporting individuals in their research and academic careers. We are working to create an inclusive environment which values a diverse workforce and we recognise that many individuals value flexibility in their work/life balance. Therefore these posts may be taken up on a part-time (a minimum of 0.5 FTE) or full-time basis (including a job share). We strongly encourage applications from individuals from groups underrepresented within our workforce, particularly women and people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background. There is no obligation to declare an interest in a part-time or flexible position in the application or at interview. This may be addressed after the selection process.
