Chemistry is always moving. It’s the science of colour and light and energy, and it’s done by passionate people with powerful stories to tell. We can’t think of a better subject for visual content. How about you?

We need a talented content creator to produce high quality photo, video, illustration and animation content, to join us on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave, all driven by the charitable purpose of the Royal Society of Chemistry: advance the chemical sciences to make people’s lives better.

You will be creating our own authentic stock of imagery and making strategic use of user-generated content. You’ll work with colleagues to identify and exploit opportunities for visual storytelling to meet campaign objectives and to produce high quality, engaging visual content for print, online platforms and social channels.

Based in Cambridge you will work with a team professionals responsible for a creative service for the whole organisation – producing everything from eye-catching exhibition stands to award-winning magazines and everything in between.

Our work, both digital and print, must attract attention, inspire involvement and create the desire to take action among all our audiences. Multimedia work must always strive to maintain the high standards and production values that reflect our mission, vision, brand and reputation – and also constantly evolve how we communicate with our audiences, reflecting the dynamism of chemistry itself.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the world’s leading chemistry community, advancing excellence in the chemical sciences. The UK’s professional body for chemical scientists with over 54,000 members worldwide, we are a £50m-turnover not-for-profit organisation with over 500 staff operating around the world and an award-winning global knowledge business. For over 175 years we have promoted, supported, and celebrated chemistry. We work to shape the future of the chemical sciences – for the benefit of science and humanity.

We have an exceptional diversity of audiences—from teachers, scientists and academics, librarians and corporates to politicians and the public. Our work includes activities focused on our role as a professional body (e.g. supporting members), a publisher (e.g. selling journals, books and databases), and as the voice of the chemical science community (e.g. campaigning to influence government policy).

At the RSC we offer an excellent benefits package, including a standard 35-hour week: http://www.rsc.org/about-us/work-for-us/#benefits

If you are interested in this role, please apply before the end of our closing date.
