We have a brand new and exciting opportunity available for a Quality and Regulation Manager to join a growing innovative ingredients company based in the Cambridgeshire area.

As the Quality and Regulation Manager you will be responsible for supporting work across a range of functions in the regulation team, however, your key duties will be focused on Quality Control and Assurance, gaining and maintaining operational and product certifications.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to, and supported by, the Head of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs, your duties as a Quality & Regulation Manager will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Putting in place GMP and HACCP in the food development lab and continually monitoring compliance.

2. Gaining and managing regulatory and certification standards (BRC, ISO etc.) in internal and external manufacturing.

3. Putting procedures in place for ensuring laboratory and production equipment is calibrated and assessed daily / weekly and troubleshooting equipment failure, when required.

4. Sampling and sending raw material for testing and archiving test results and regularly summarise findings and conclusions for senior management.

5. Evaluating finished products and communicating any quality issues of production to senior management.

6. Carrying out quality inspections during, and prior to, manufacturing processes. Auditing internal hygiene practices and accessing line cleanliness, preceding manufacturing start up.

7. Gaining and managing product certifications such as non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten-free, Kosher etc.

8. Creating and maintaining inventory records of all ingredients, chemicals and equipment used in the experimental work.

9. Supporting Clinical and Regulatory Affairs team in gaining regulatory approval in US, EU and RoW.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Quality and Regulation Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a science focussed discipline, or equivalent technical experience. In addition to this you will also have proven track record of working in a testing laboratory environment, preferably in an industry research setting.

2. Strong food science fundamentals, including relevant industry experience and/or a post-graduate qualification in a QA/QC or related field.

3. Knowledge of food quality standards and procedures is vital along with HACCP, BRC & GMP.
