This is a great opportunity for a graduate with experience in stem cell culturing to being their career in the lab or for an experienced stem cell laboratory technician.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Stem Cell Research Assistant will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Culturing, isolating and differentiating cell lines such as human embryonic stem cells (hES), induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and other primary cells
2. Demonstrating aseptic techniques when culturing stem cells or other genetically engineered induced pluripotent stem cells.
3. As a Stem Cell Research Assistant, you will preparing cell lines for high throughput screening such as cell based assays.
4. Recognising any potential issues that could affect successful cell culturing
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Stem Cell Research Assistant we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a life science degree such as biomedical science, biochemistry, biology, transitional medicine, stem cell and regeneration. A placement or industry experience is desirable.
2. Proven industry experience in cell culturing of stem cells however, relevant laboratory experience with techniques with human iPSCs is acceptable
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with mammalian stem cell culturing, aseptic techniques, maintenance of cell lines.
