NGS Scientist

Hyper Recruitment Solution are currently supporting a leading Cell and Gene Therapy Biotech based in central London with the hiring of an experience Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Scientist. As the NGS Scientist you will be responsible for the analytical development and application of Next Generation Sequencing protocols for the assessment of Viral and non-viral Gene delivery.

This is a great opportunity for a PhD candidate with NGS experience or for a Scientist within industry with NGS experience to join a leading ATMP development company in the heart of the UK capital.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the NGS Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Independently develop NGS protocols for the assessment of viral and non-viral gene delivery methods.

2. You will specifically develop Next Generation Sequencing protocols for Single Cell RNAseq, gene editing and AAV characterisation. As well as experience with a number of other Molecular Biological techniques including Primer Design, DNA/RNA isolation/purification, qPCR etc.

3. You will design robust experimental plans and work crossfunctionally and collaboratively with a number of groups internally as well as on external collaborations.

4. Collaborate with data scientists to facilitate Bioinformatic analysis.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the NGS Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Genomics, Genetics, Biological Sciences etc. An PhD is preferred or BSc/MSc in addition to relevant industry experience.

2. Proven industry or academic experience with developing and utilising NGS sequencing. Ideally with a focus on characterisation viral and non-viral gene delivery.

3. Extensive experience with Molecular Biology techniques including but not limited to qPCR, ddPCR, Primer Design, DNA/RNA isolation and PCR techniques.
