Molecular Biologist

CK Group are recruiting for a molecular biologist to support our research needs within the R&D department of a fast-growing and friendly biotech business.

Our client is an industry leader in the development and manufacture of real-time PCR kits and reagents. Their customers span academia, research, healthcare, the food industry and the veterinary industry and they sell to over 100 countries worldwide.

The role:
You will support the Design, R&D and Marketing teams to stay up to date with the latest scientific research and opinion, while offering wet lab research support when needed.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews, compiling results into reports
• Presenting findings to the Design Team, R&D Team, Marketing and the wider business
• Supporting the writing of scientific papers and patent applications
• Occasional PCR experiments, including data analysis and presenting results
• Supporting Marketing activities
• Supporting Business Development activities

To be considered for the position, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• MSc (or equivalent) in a Life Science Subject
• A good understanding of genomics, mutations and/or protein biochemistry
• The ability to present findings to a wider audience
• Experience of working in a laboratory setting (academic, clinical or industrial)
