Job Details
The Royal Society of Chemistry is looking for an intern to work as a science writer for our editorial office and gain experience working for our flagship publication Chemistry World. You will need to be able to suitably work from home, within the UK, in line with Covid-19 guidance.
This opportunity will provide a hands-on introduction to the editorial process, from writing and editing to page layout and printing and is available on a paid, full-time basis for eight weeks to start and finish before the end of November 2021, supported by the Marriott Bequest Trust.
We are looking for:
With an interest in science communication, you will demonstrate an enthusiasm for writing and will probably be coming to the end of, or will have recently completed, your chemical science degree or postgraduate course. If this sounds like you, please apply on-line before the end of our closing date.
In your application, please include your CV accompanied by a letter describing how you would benefit from the experience, as well as three varied samples of your previously published written work. If you don’t have any available samples, compose and include some of your own Chemistry World-style news pieces based on recent journal papers or current events.
Please upload or include a working link to electronic examples of three writing samples in the same file as your application letter or CV and include with your availability in your application.
