CK Science are recruiting for a Technical Specialist to join a Life Sciences company at their site located in Surrey on a permanent basis.

Our client is a Life Sciences business providing diagnostic services to the healthcare sector.

This Technical Specialist role is located in Surrey.

Technical Specialist Role:
Covering the areas of either Microbiology or Immunology, you will be responsible for optimising and reformulating products. As part of this, you will focus on a range of immunoassays that make up the company’s expanding product portfolio.

Other duties will include:
  • Characterising and analysing clinical products based around agglutination reactions, antibody antigen interactions and blood grouping.
  • Planning and conducting experiments and recording and analysing data independently.
  • Understanding the product to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Problem solving manufacturing and QC to drive improvement.
  • Problem solving manufacturing to implement new processes or alter the scale of production.
  • Presenting results to senior/other technical or research staff.
  • Supervising junior staff, including technicians.
  • Organising and undertaking product and QC studies.

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
  • PhD in Microbiology, Immunology or related subjects, or extensive industrial experience.
  • Experience in a related manufacturing capacity.
  • Previous experience of latex agglutination technologies.
  • Previous experience in blood grouping analysis kits.
  • Strong microbiology or immunology knowledge.
  • The ability to plan experiments, problem solve and progress projects independently.
  • The ability to co-ordinate multiple projects with challenging timelines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
