CK Group are recruiting for a R&D Category Lead to join an industry leading manufacturer of Horticultural products, to be based at their site in Ipswich on a permanent basis.

Salary:
£40,000 - £60,000 DOE.

Location:
This R&D Category Lead role is located in state of the art facilities in Ipswich. This unique research centre includes test fields and indoor research facilities, staffed by a team of expert scientists, allowing you to work at the cutting edge of research.

R&D Category Lead Role:
You will be responsible for management of the technical elements of the company's international horticultural product portfolio (Synthetic & Natural Products) including innovation, new product development, maintenance of existing products, trouble shooting, and product stewardship in the lawn care category.

Your main duties will include:
  • Building, implementation of and delivery against product development projects, on time within specifications and budgets
  • Management of the innovation pipeline, creation of trials programmes, preparation of protocols and validation of reports.
  • Supervision of field trials.
  • Development of the product portfolio and product stewardship.
  • Liaising with group marketing teams to support new product introductions, provide technical support, and to ensure that all claims can be supported.
  • Management of external collaborations, taking an active role in the scientific and technical community externally.
  • Recommending and putting in place relevant IP strategies.

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
  • Be qualified to degree level (or ideally PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the agrochemical industry.
  • Have experience in the management or supervision of staff.
  • Experience of lawn care product development would be highly beneficial for this position.
