A very exciting opportunity for a Stem Cell Scientist/Study Director with experience in stem cell reprogramming of iPSCs, to join a growing company specialising in the areas of drug development and regenerative medicine. A permanent position based near Glasgow, where the successful candidate will be responsible for management and delivery of stem cell-based contract research services.

Stem Cell Scientist Role:
  • You will work across all areas of the lab-based drug discovery services business, though main focus will be on Stem cell research services.
  • Further training for in vitro pharmacology services will be provided.
  • Our client operate seven days per week, therefore flexible working is essential, as it will involve out of hours working (weekend and on call).
  • In addition to a strong academic/laboratory-based stem cell research background; demonstrable report writing, data analysis and communication skills are essential

Responsibilities will include to:
  • Carry out experimental research, primarily stem cell service contracts and in vitro pharmacology.
  • Fulfil role of Study Director for contract research studies.
  • Liaise with management to ensure CRO (contract research organisation) and R&D milestones are met.
  • This post will involve some out-of-hours working.

Your Background:
  • Minimum BSc in stem cell-related science with at least 5 years relevant work experience; or PhD in stem cell-related science.
  • Experience in stem cell reprogramming/handling of iPSCs is extremely advantageous.
  • Experience in lab-based stem cell culture is essential.
  • Experience within a GMP, GLP or commercial environment is highly advantageous.
