CK Group are recruiting for a Laboratory Director to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Cambridge on a contract basis for 6 months.

Location:
This Laboratory Director role will be based at our clients site in Cambridge.

Salary:
£700 per day LTD.

Laboratory Director Role:
  • The COVID-19 Laboratory Director will fulfil the role in a UKAS 17025 accredited laboratory. This facility will be used for high-throughput screening for SARS-CoV-2 status of company Key Workers.
  • Provide guidance and approval of the start-up activities to bring a new testing laboratory to UKAS 17025 standards.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are established for monitoring individuals who conduct pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing to verify that they maintain competency.
  • Ensure that all personnel have the appropriate education and experience prior to testing patient specimens; receive appropriate training for the type and complexity of services offered; and have demonstrated that they can perform all testing operations to provide and report accurate results.
  • Employ a sufficient number of laboratory personnel with appropriate education, experience and/or training to provide appropriate consultation, properly supervise, and accurately perform tests and report test results.

Your Background:
  • Have a PhD or equivalent work experience in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science AND must have served as a director of a lab performing high complexity testing.
  • Previous experience as a Lab Directory in an accredited diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high visibility environment is essential.
  • Flexible working is sometimes required.
