We are currently looking for a Downstream Process Development Scientist to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in the Hertfordshire area. As the Downstream Process Development Scientist you will be responsible for carrying out experimental R&D projects to help develop and analyse new and improved products.


Your duties as the Downstream Process Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for carrying out protein purification using a number of methods, including chromatography, filtration, centrifugation, formulation and filling.

2. As the Downstream Process Development Scientist, you will help to design and evaluate the process R&D work programmes, as well as coordinate and lead some project activities.

3. It will be your responsibility to investigate any deviations, as well as prepare, review and issue study plans.

4. You will need to maintain GMP compliance in some instances, and will need to liaise with and support production, QC, QA, regulatory, marketing and clinical when needed.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Process Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a science subject will be beneficial.

2. Proven industry experience in bioprocessing is essential.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with downstream process development techniques is required.
