Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose-built scientific and administrative buildings together with a conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000 m² of premier R&D space and houses established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Drug Discovery and Formulation Development teams and state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development, testing and production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API). 

The Analytical Chemistry (AC) team at the Hoddesdon site supports the other chemistry functions and our science partners with advanced analytical solutions that help deliver our clients’ programmes and ultimately progress medicines to the market.

To continue our growth and success, we are looking for undergraduate chemistry students to join our team as part of a 12-month Analytical Chemistry Industrial Placement.  This placement will give you the opportunity to experience the fast-paced world of a leading pharmaceutical R&D facility and exposure to a wide range of modern analytical techniques. You will have the chance to apply your knowledge and problem-solving skills to support process chemistry R&D and to facilitate the development and validation of analytical methods for the testing of raw materials, intermediates and APIs.

Qualification

• Studying towards an undergraduate degree with a significant chemistry component
• Predicted 1st or 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
