The Company
Almac Sciences (Scotland) focuses on manufacturing high quality peptides for the pharmaceutical research industry. The company has recently moved to new premises at Edinburgh Technopole, as we look to expand our operations in existing and new business areas.

The Role
The field of personalised cancer vaccines is rapidly growing and incredibly exciting. The treatment strategy harnesses a patient’s immune system to fight their cancer. In the case of antigenic peptides, the drugs produced are completely personalised – i.e. they are each manufactured on a one-off basis and only used to treat an individual patient.

This is an exciting new field and a new venture for Almac. We are aiming to build a team of high calibre manufacturing staff to produce, test and release these personalised drugs.  Working as part of the High Throughput GMP Manufacturing team based in our Edinburgh Technopole facility, the Production Manager will be responsible for:

  • the management of production personnel and ensuring their compliance with quality systems
  • creating and delivering the manufacturing schedule
  • preparation, approval and review of manufacturing documentation and batch records
  • compliance and manufacturing readiness of the production area

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A-C, in Mathematics and English Language
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Life Science related discipline
  • Significant experience in a supervisory position within a highly regulated manufacturing environment

Desirable Criteria
(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • PhD in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Significant experience in a supervisory position within a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Significant experience in a supervisory positing within a GMP API Manufacturing environment
