We are working with one of our key clients supporting their search for an Analytical Team Leader - Crystallisation Development. They are a global pharmaceutical company based in Northern Ireland.

This is a rare opportunity to join the business in a senior role, and the key purpose of the job is the development of fit-for-purpose crystallisation procedures on behalf of external clients or in support of internal chemistry projects.

In addition to a generous package and salary, the company will also contribute towards interview costs and arrangements, and may be able to support some upfront relocation costs.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Team Leader - Crystallisation Development will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. To ensure that all scientific project work is completed to the required standard, within budget and to agreed project timelines. You will ensure that team members are working effectively towards their targets and monitor and measure the progress of projects and to provide regular KPI metrics for the Team

2. Actively participate in customer visits and audits and to give presentations. You will also assist the BD team and sales activities with technical input for the generation of quotations.

3. The role of Analytical Team Leader will have a strong Customer Focus - you will be responsive to customer requirements, taking care to identify and record any scope changes that may impact the business. Lead and chair teleconferences with clients to discuss projects results and / or requirements

4. Ensure the appropriate GMP procedures are followed consistently in all areas of work, including prepare and review data and documents accurately and efficiently, in line with the department's culture of Right First Time. You will communicate and investigate deviations from GMP procedures in a timely manner and be able to identify, investigate and trend OOS, OOT, OOP and OOE results.

5, You will be expected to communicate effectively with your team and other staff members including constructively participating in company meetings, providing timely project updates and contribute to and lead technical discussions.

6. You will be able to lead by example and provide proactive solutions where required. This will include identifying opportunities for process and business improvement and propose and action potential solutions and acting as a positive role model for the organisation, fostering a climate of teamwork and continuous
improvement

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Team Leader - Crystallisation Development we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree, and ideally postgraduate qualification, in a related discipline eg. chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical sciences.

2. In addition to the above you will be expected to demonstrate a track record of experience gained within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically the development of crystallisation processes for small molecule pharmaceuticals. Ideally, your experience will cover process transfers and work in a GMP manufacturing plant.

3. As this is a team leader role, you should be able to demonstrate experience in the performance management of a small team of scientists, combined with the ability to organise and plan work both independently and in conjunction with team members.
