R&D Chemist - Kidderminster, £30-40,000 (Flexible)

We’re currently recruiting for a R&D Chemist for an international chemical manufacturing company based near Kidderminster, West Midlands. The company have around 200 staff on site, of whom 60 work in the technical department, and the role will allow participation on a wide variety of R&D and production projects. This is a permanent role and pays £30-40,000, with flexibility dependant on experience.

We're looking for candidates with skills in some but not all of the following areas:

- R&D: Material synthesis and/or formulation - polymerisation, scale up to pilot plant/production

- Chemical processing: Mixing, extruding, pressing. Producing process specifications & control plans

- Testing: Material physical and/or chemical testing, liaising with external test partners, interpreting results & writing reports

- Data analysis: DoE, statistical analysis, process simulation, computational modelling

- H&S: able to drive & improve site H&S. Producing risk assessments, SDSs, COSHH & COMAH reports

- Technical documentation: producing reports for senior managers & customers, reviewing info from suppliers, preparing presentations on project results & issues



The successful candidate will have a strong chemistry based educational background and several years research and/or production experience. We're looking for candidates with a genuine interest in chemistry and becoming a hands on subject matter/technical expert, rather than those looking to move into senior management roles.
