We are currently looking for a Principal Purification Scientist to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Principal Purification Scientist you will be responsible for bringing new, innovative ideas to the protein purification team in order to develop antibody-based therapeutics.


Your duties as the Principal Purification Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will develop and implement new ideas for antibody-based therapeutic formats and support the projects from conception to clinical development.

2. As the Principal Scientist, you will be hands-on in the laboratory and required to produce antibody and antibody-like molecules. This will include their design, expression, purification and a strong understanding of their structure.

3. You will play a key role in the manufacturing process of the proteins and antibodies.

4. It will be your responsibility to follow work with detailed quality analysis.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Principal Purification Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A degree in a relevant science subject (e.g. Biochemistry, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, etc.) will be essential to your understanding and ability in the role.

2. Proven industry experience in a manufacturing downstream environment, working with protein purification, protein analysis and protein engineering is required.

3. A knowledge and practical experience working with and understanding the structure, engineering, production and analysis of antibodies and proteins is necessary.
