Are you a recent graduate in analytical chemistry looking to gain experience in method development and validation?

We are currently looking for a Method Development Analyst to join a leading life sciences company based in the Yorkshire area.

As the Method Development Analyst you will be supporting the use of, or using, analytical methods and techniques to investigate and report on the chemical or physical characteristics of test samples (substances, compounds, formulations, investigational or commercial products, materials).

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Method Development Analyst will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for a wide range of physico-chemical testing using a variety of instrumentation including HPLC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-OES and ICP-MS.

2. You will be contributing in revenue generating laboratory-based analytical project work including sample preparation, operation of specific instrumentation and supporting with quality related tasks. The specific contribution will be guided by the line manager and scheduling team.

3. As the method development analyst, you will participate in balance and pipette calibration as well as maintenance of other instruments on site.

4. The site operates to GLP and GMP standards, so you will be contributing to and adhering to company standard operating procedures, ensuring you are following the regulations.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Method Development Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. BSc or higher in an analytical, chemical or related scientific field with demonstrated, relevant experience.

2. Although no industry experience is required, you need to have the desire to learn method development, predominantly supporting the pharmaceutical industry and be a passionate scientist.

3. Able to identify and highlight own training needs, and proactively upskill would be essential.
