Are you an experienced immunoassay scientist looking for your exciting next role? We are currently looking for a R&D Scientist to join a global life science company based in the Ayrshire area. As the R&D Scientist you will be responsible for development of immunoassay based products to support the company's award-winning diagnostic testing kit production and testing services, by undertaking a wide range of R&D activities.


Your duties as the R&D Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Act as a project lead for the timely development of several immunoassay projects, namely diagnostic testing kits and services, as required by the company. Additionally, to liaise with other departments on technical and product development issues.

2. Maintain all laboratory and R&D equipment, and contribute to troubleshooting, scientific problem solving and technical support as needed.

3. Prepare materials for the sales and marketing of new and existing products, in addition to R&D documentation. Write and review SOPs and QA/QC documentation to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

4. As the R&D Scientist, you will additionally provide training for other scientists and ensure appropriate H&S procedures are followed at all times.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the R&D Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Minimum of a BSc in a life science discipline, preferably Biological or Chemical Sciences.

2. Proven industry experience with immunoassay technology. Lateral flow experience is beneficial, but not essential.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with relevant biochemical methods and technologies, and experimental design and practice.
