Project Manager

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Edinburgh area.

This new role of Project Manager will report directly to the Head of Project Delivery. The primary function is to co-ordinate a number of development and manufacturing projects within the company. The Project Manager will plan, manage and track projects and will be entrusted with ensuring that all projects are being carried out on time, on budget and to client satisfaction.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Project Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Liaise with the Sales team to ensure projects are transferred smoothly to the Operation ensuring all aspects of project delivery have been considered and captured in the project plan.

2. Establish project goals and deliverables in collaboration with the management team and clients/prospective clients. Support with the preparation of project proposals and project funding applications.

3. Continuously manage project and client expectations. Provide and ensure clients receive excellent customer service and proactive, clear and timely communication. Proactively, pre-empt client needs and feed this back to the management team.

4. With the management team, identify resources needed (personnel, equipment, etc) and assign responsibilities.

5. Establish project timelines, plans and list of actions. Track project actions and co-ordinate with relevant departments to ensure actions are completed in a timely manner. Support Management in keeping the Project teams motivated and informed about results, milestones, deliverables and possible project changes. Track project costs and ensure they are within budget.

6. Write reports and prepare presentations.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Project Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A degree in a Life Science, e.g. Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biotechnology etc. or equivalent qualification. An additional qualification in Project Management, e.g. Prince2, PMP, would be advantageous.

2. In addition to the above, you will be required to demonstrate experience with Project Management within a Pharmaceutical or GMP Manufacturing environment.

3. We will be looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organisational skills, a track record of negotiating and maintaining strong working relationships.
