We are currently looking for a Group Leader - Bioassays to join a leading Life Sciences company based in the Berkshire area. As the Group Leader - Bioassays you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists within analytical services and helping to develop, optimise and implement robust bioassays.


Your duties as the Group Leader - Bioassays will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will support the development and validation of activity and binding assays as well as cell based assays. ELISA development and optimisation will be a large part of your role.

2. Line managing scientist and ensuring work is executed and delivered to a high quality and to the agreed timelines. You will also be responsible for managing the team performance by monitoring KPI's and maintaining training on all skills.

3. You will troubleshoot technical issues, manage progress and operational constraints.

4. As the Group Leader you will liaise with internal and external clients and customers to deliver on customers needs.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Group Leader - Bioassays we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant Degree, Masters or PhD in a Life Sciences related discipline such as, but not limited to, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Molecular Biology is essential to your application.

2. It is essential to have previous experience working in industry within the field of Protein Chemistry or Biochemistry, executing Bioassays, Cell Based Assays or Immunoassays such as ELISA.

3. Proven experience managing and leading a team of up to 8 in a Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or Life Sciences company is essential to your application for Group Leader. Provide proven experience of background in managing KPI's, delegating work load, and carrying out performance reviews.
