Applications for the post are welcome in any research areas in biological or bioorganic chemistry that complement the existing strengths within the School. The post-holder will develop, lead and sustain research of international standard in biological or bioorganic chemistry contribute to teaching, assessment, project supervision and curriculum design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and participate in School management and organisation.

Job Purpose

To carry out research and scholarship in biological or bioorganic chemistry, deliver an excellent student experience through teaching and assessment, and contribute to management and administration. At Grade 8 and 9, demonstrate leadership and contribute to academic and strategic management.

The School of Chemistry currently comprises 44 academic staff, around 50 postdoctoral researchers and research fellows, and around 120 PhD students. The successful applicant will join the thriving Chemical Biology and Precision Synthesis Research Grouping within the School and it is expected that the successful applicant’s research will strategically align with this Research Grouping (https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/chemistry/research/chemicalbiologyprecisionsynthesis/).
