We are currently looking for a DNA Manufacturing Technician to join a leading life science company based in the Suffolk area, working an night shift pattern (Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am) with a shift allowance. As the DNA Manufacturing Technician you will be responsible for synthesising DNA in a regulated environment, following health and safety guidelines, working to tight schedules and ensuring maximum productivity.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the DNA Manufacturing Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Synthesise DNA according to the production schedule and work instructions.

2. Ensure high productivity and efficiency of manufacturing processes by minimising machinery downtime, reporting inconsistencies and failures to senior staff, adhering to quality management systems and prioritising personal tasks.

3. Undertake quality control checks, including machine checks, visual verification and chemical usage checks, and to record data on paper and electronic quality management databases and update appropriate documentation.

4. Perform DNA Manufacturing Technician housekeeping activities such as monitoring and replenishing reagents, maintaining and troubleshooting issues with equipment and processes and complying with HS&E guidelines.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the RNA Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Proven industry experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.

2. Some working knowledge and practical experience with process improvement and ISO or similar quality management systems. A knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques is desirable but not essential.

3. Minimum 3 GCSEs, including Maths and English. An additional 2 A-Levels or a degree in a related life science subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry or Biomedical Science) is desirable but not essential.
