VP of Quality Assurance

Are you an experienced Quality Assurance professional looking to take your next step in a fast moving, flexible and dynamic CRO?

We are currently looking for a Head of Quality Assurance to join a busy Contract Research Organisation headquartered in Manchester, however this role is home based as you will be expected to cover multiple sites.

The Head of Quality Assurance is responsible for assuring Quality across all of the business sites. You will be required to take the lead in ensuring that the demands of both customers and certifying bodies / regulators are met and that a consistent approach to quality-based processes is achieved.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Head of Quality Assurance will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Lead the existing QA team across the company's locations at sites across the UK to provide compliance oversight of GLP, GMP, GCP and ISO regulated activities. Develop the Quality strategy for the company in line with business needs.

2. Ensure that the systems and resources in place currently, and those that are developed are compliant with all regulatory demands. Alongside this, you will ensure that work is performed in compliance with the appropriate regulatory standards or accreditations e.g. GLP, GMP, GCP, ISO 17025.

3. Monitor the performance of the QA team across the business, and ensure that they have adequate training to complete their duties.

4. Effectively communicate changes to regulatory quality requirements and accreditations appropriate to the business and any potential impact they may have on the business to senior management.

5. Support the implementation of Quality standards within the business units.

6. Assist in regulatory agency inspections and be familiar with dealing with assessor's demands and being robust with them when it is appropriate. As the highest-level quality professional within the business take responsibility for the outcomes of inspections/audits.

7. Assist in customer audits to ensure the best possible outcome for the business in maintaining the customer's confidence in the company's services.

8. Ensure that data quality and integrity is at the heart of what the business does. Engage all employees with the quality objectives of the company and foster effective communication between departments.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Head of Quality Assurance we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences or Engineering, with additional and significant experience working in the contract testing, contract research or pharmaceutical industry, in a quality assurance capacity.

2. Thorough knowledge, skills and abilities in GLP, GMP, GCP and ISO 17025 Standards (UKAS), guidance and Regulations. You will also be expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience of scheduling and performing audits, and hosting/supporting customer and regulatory agency inspections.

3. Strong leadership & management skills and ability to lead a team through change. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to challenge and drive quality and a compliant culture forward.

Note: This role is home based, so can offer flexibility in working hours and location, however we are looking for someone who can be flexible to travel across the UK.
