Bournemouth University’s vision is worldwide recognition as a leading university for inspiring learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society through the fusion of education, research and practice. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences that help to build our global learning community.
The Faculty has a reputation for producing high quality graduates, who have excellent employability, and this is particularly the case within Forensic Science. This is an opportunity to join a buoyant and growing department, which has seen continued growth in research profile, student numbers and significant investment in outstanding laboratory facilities and equipment.
We are seeking an expert in the field of forensic science with an established academic profile and an exceptional record in securing research funding to lead new research projects and encourage growth within forensic and related disciplines at BU.
Applications are invited from candidates with expertise in analytical chemistry, biology or genetics. This may be related to life science or environmental science research, and applicants will be able to demonstrate how their work contributes to these fields within the context of forensic science. The faculty has outstanding facilities for research in these disciplines and is investing heavily in significant new laboratory facilities and equipment which will support the research activities of the successful candidate for this position.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute by teaching on the forensic courses and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
We support our academic staff with a rich personal development programme, seed funds for mobility and networking, grant writing support, internal funding scheme for PhD studentships, and engagement with industry facilities. We have a strong team-based working style and we support new academics in a friendly and collaborative environment and expect them to be excellent team players and communicators.
