This is an entry level position ideal for someone looking to develop within our scientific laboratories at RSSL. The role will be within our Pharmaceutical Development team and the ideal candidate will have had experience in performing routine analysis in some of the following techniques through laboratory work at university or equivalent work experience - HPLC, dissolution, Karl Fischer, UV spectrometer, pH. Working within a large team, we will provide you with the training and support you need in this role.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform a range of routine analysis using HPLC, dissolution, Karl Fischer, UV spectrometer, pH under supervision of a senior member of staff.
- To perform analytical work following validation protocols.
- Be proficient in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse, OpenLab.
- Perform laboratory admin and housekeeping duties as required.
- Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed.
- Assist with the documentation of SOPs for simple equipment and tests and generation of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
- To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and UKAS.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience using the techniques such as HPLC, dissolution, Karl Fischer, UV spectrometer, pH.
- Degree / HNC level in Chemistry, a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience in a laboratory (preferred).
- Good understanding of basic lab equipment (preferred).
- Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to follow written instructions.
- Computer literate in standard MS office applications.
- English fluency (written and spoken).
