Hyper Recruitment Solutions are currently working with an exciting client looking for a Production Supervisor. This person will join a leading global life sciences provider based in the Suffolk area.

The primary focus of the role of Production Supervisor is people and process management; including (but not limited to) scheduling, conducting regular performance reviews, talent management, absence management, recruitment and selection, ensure compliance with company safety and quality policies.

This is a permanent role and will cover the evening shift - Sunday to Thursday 15:00 until 23:00. There will be a shift uplift on salary on the hours from 17:30 until 23:00.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Production Supervisor will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Leadership - Demonstrate a sound understanding of the principles of leadership. Supervise, mentor and motivate team/teams. Generate and monitor high-level departmental key performance indicators, act upon negative trends. Follow site Lean manufacturing principles and ensure 6S standards are maintained.

2. Quality - Ensure that department/s are audit ready at all times. Team members are fully conversant with the QMS and understand its importance to themselves and the business. Regularly review WI's/procedures in line within the QMS.

3. Service - Planning and prioritizing order schedules with key customer accounts, departmental managers and supervisors. Take ownership of the entire order fulfilment process. Rigorous and systematic review and resolution of the order fulfilment process, including late orders. Regularly review project order reports for internal monitoring and discussion.

4. Safety - Demonstrate leadership and support for the HS&E policies and proactively strive to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Follow and enforce all safety HS&E guidelines.
5. Staff Management and development - . Agree, set and regularly review team and individual's performance act upon both negative and positive trends. Assess training wants/needs to aid continual development of team.

6. Communication - Conduct daily shift handovers with both staff and other supervisors. Regular contact with senior production personnel to understand current and anticipated situations. Conduct regular team meetings. Proactive communication of order changes to customer services, sales and production. An ability to communicate with different stakeholders and maintain internal and external relationships.

7. Adaptability/Flexibility - Learn and apply new skills within expected time periods. Lead changes in processes and protocols. Prioritise tasks to optimise throughput.

8. Problem Solving and Job Knowledge - Review and conduct analysis of operations to improve processes, reduce rework, identify bottlenecks and reduce cycle times. Be able to identify failure patterns and communicate to QC, ENG and supervisors to ensure fast resolution of manufacturing issues. In-depth knowledge of all computer systems used within production, customer services and the business.

9. Process Improvement - High level of involvement in testing and change. Gets results and achieves commitment from all levels of the company hierarchy.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Production Supervisor we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Extensive experience of working in a similar environment (scientific manufacturing or laboratory), specifically applying scientific knowledge to a Chemistry or Biology based product. You will also require experience working in a controlled environment ie. GMP, ISO, where you have worked to and maintained SOPs

2. Proven industry experience with production planning techniques, work load planning and scheduling skills.

3. An energetic leader and effective communicator from a scientific or manufacturing background, this person will be passionate about continual improvement and strive to deliver customer-focused and profitable departments. They will be adept at energizing and empowering others in order that production output is optimal at all times.
