We are currently looking for a Group Lead Analytical Chemist to join a leading Life Science company based in the Berkshire area. As the Group Lead Analytical Chemist you will be responsible for taking a lead role to plan and implement appropriate test methods and specifications for novel and existing bile acid derivatives, for pre-clinical, clinical and commercial applications, the responsibility includes utilizing in-house laboratory as well as external test laboratories for completion of analytical work required to seek approval of products. This position will actively work as part of a collaborative project team to deliver the analytical requirements for projects as per agreed timelines.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Group Lead Analytical Chemist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. As the Group Lead Analytical Chemist you will plan, implement and execute all analytical testing activities and support method development, transfers, validations and stability studies for known and novel chemical molecules.

2. As the Group Lead Analytical Chemist you will develop test methods appropriate for different phases of API development, regulatory approval and commercialisation as well as develop and produce analyses of reports for internal, clients and partners.

3. You will demonstrate dedication and appreciation for SH&E by ensuring high standards of housekeeping are kept and attending and following training to SH&E. You will ensure that all project documentation is competed to a high standard following GMP guidelines.

4. As the Group Lead Analytical Chemist you will provide technical leadership and advice in analytical techniques, maintain an up to date knowledge of new advances Lead all investigations in the laboratory related to the R&D projects. In addition, you will liaise and work with the site Quality Manager as required regarding laboratory usage and work flow.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Group Lead Analytical Chemist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree/PhD in a Chemistry based discipline or related scientific area.

2. Proven industry experience working within a cGMP environment and working with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR, KF amongst others.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience in developing, validating and transferring analytical methods. Working on developing methods from scratch to identify Chiral molecules.
