Chair of Renewable Energy

The School of Chemistry, University of Glasgow intends to appoint a Chair in the area of Renewable Energy (experimental or computational). The appointee with be expected to engage in high-quality research, actively contribute to physical chemistry teaching, and undertake relevant administration within the School of Chemistry. Successful candidates will be encouraged to initiate and participate in collaborative research within School and beyond.

The School has a strong background in chemical research with a diverse set of programmes spanning the entire field. Research is grouped into six key themes: Energy Conversion and Storage, Chemical Biology and Precision Synthesis, Supramolecular, Magnetic and Electronic Systems, Complex Chemistry, Chemical Photonics and Heterogeneous Catalysis. Candidates will be expected to have research interests that fit mainly within the Energy Storage and Conversion Grouping.

The School of Chemistry currently comprises 44 academic staff, around 50 postdoctoral researchers and research fellows, and around 110 PhD students.
