We are currently looking for a Biopharmaceutical Characterisation Development Scientist to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company based in the North West. As the Characterisation Development Scientist you will be responsible for supporting internal and external development of assays for the characterisation and quantification of Biotherapeutics.


Your duties as the Characterisation Development Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Develop and implement analytical techniques aimed at the characterisation of biotherapeutics. The techniques will be based around HPLC, Electrophoresis, and Octet.

2. Take a DOE approach to method development and support the transfer of methods, providing quantification and validation when necessary. As the Characterisation Development Scientist, you will liaise with internal and external partners to strengthen scientific and technical expertise.

3. Cross-train in a variety of new responsibilities to develop a Best-in-class analytical team.

4. Increase Product and Process understanding in accordance with regulatory guidelines.


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Characterisation Development Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Science discipline and experience in analytical development within an industrial setting.

2. Proven industry experience in method development for Analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, cIEF and SDS-PAGE amongst others.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with CMC, R&D environments, HPLC and other Bioanalytical techniques.
