We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join a growing life sciences company based in the Glasgow area.

As the Business Development Manager you will engage with clients at a technical sales level to identify their biosafety testing needs and provide a scientific solution.

Note: For the first 6 months you will be expected to report to site in Glasgow, however in the longer term they can offer remote working. This role will also involve travel - no more than 1 week a month, internationally.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the above, your duties as the Business Development Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for advising clients on biosafety testing services, helping customers meet the regulatory requirements for safety on their biopharmaceutical and vaccines.

2. As a customer facing company representative, you will promote the company with a professional and targeted approach.

3. You will build and maintain professional business relationships, managing your sales territory to ensure KPIs are met with existing and new accounts.

4. You will communicate competitor activities, market trends and changing client priorities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a life sciences related discipline, eg. Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or similar.

2. Proven track records of sales within the life sciences or biotech industry. You will be expected to demonstrate skills in persuasion, negotiating and selling. Ownership and the ability to drive own KPIs and targets.

3. Knowledge of the biotechnology market and biosafety requirements would be a benefit.

4. Prior customer facing experience (eg. customer F2F meetings) would also be a benefit.
