About MediSieve

MediSieve is an exciting medical device start-up developing “magnetic blood filtration”, a revolutionary treatment for blood-borne diseases which removes pathogens directly from the bloodstream. We are developing magnetic particles which bind to specific entities in blood, and are looking for an enthusiastic Biochemist to join our team. More details on medisieve.com.

Your Role

You will work alongside our Product Biochemist to help develop and test our magnetic particle products, reporting to the Head of R&D, Dr Cristina Blanco Andujar. The ideal candidate would be a graduate with hands-on experience working on a relevant project in a lab, have some experience in industry, possibly during a gap/sandwich year, and have a good knowledge of Health & Safety.

The post is a 3 month internship position, but a longer-term position may be available at the end of the contract. The place of work will be in the company’s offices and laboratories in the Translation & Innovation Hub building at 80 Wood Lane, White City, London, W12 0BZ.

Experience and attributes

The candidate should have laboratory experience in at least 2 of the following areas:

  • Antibodies and/or aptamers
  • Bead/surface functionalisation
  • Haematology and blood interaction
  • Working under aseptic conditions
  • Bacterial cell culture

Self-motivated, proactive, innovative, enthusiastic, communicative and nice.

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
