Product Manager - Fuels

This role is based at the European marketing and technical centre located in a rural setting at Hazelwood, eight miles from Derby City Centre.

The Role:  

Lubrizol’s portfolio of market leading fuel additive products is designed to meet the needs of consumers, fuel marketers and the stringent performance demands of vehicle and fuel injection equipment manufacturers around the world. 

This is a broad ranging role within our global Fuel Additives business segment in which you will develop winning value propositions through class leading product lifecycle management.  You will manage this process from building market insights, through choosing the right future products to managing existing and end of life products for maximum profitability.

You will also build close working relationships across a wide range of functions within the company.  You will be commercially astute and possess the intellectual capability to turn complex technical information into viable commercial solutions.  You can also expect to work closely with customers, developing knowledge of their needs and requirements and presenting our valuable solutions to them. The role will require some international travel, principally within Europe.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a technical or engineering related discipline, as well as some previous experience in a commercial role and the ability to establish strong internal and external relationships. They will possess experience in product line management, have knowledge of OEM’s, customers, competitors and the global market, as well as an understanding of commercial and marketing skills such as product positioning, strategic and value pricing.

We also welcome interest from applicants who can demonstrate that they have some commercial exposure in current or previous roles and who are currently looking to develop their careers within Product Management.  We will offer appropriate training to such interested candidates in order to successfully nurture their commercial aptitude into the full range of product management skills.
